Standing majestically on the County Down coast near the fishing port of Ardglass, the lighthouse at St. John's Point which overlooks the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea, was completed in 1844. Originally completely white, the bands of black were added around the turn of the 20th Century, with the yellow added later in 1954.
